Rubeena's Crafting Anniversary Blog Hop DAY ONE + Giveaways

Hi everyone! Today, I'm sharing a card celebrating Rubeena's crafting anniversary hop. Congratulations, Ruby, hope your further crafty journey will bring you lots of joy!

The hop starts at Ruby's BLOG, where you can find the entire blog hop list. If you've been hopping along the order, you should've come from Tracie Pond's BLOG

This hop is epic with more than 70 guests and over $1,000 in sponsored prizes! Not only are we celebrating four years since Rubeena first discovered cardmaking but also crafting in general. This industry is made up of wonderful individuals who are creative, inspirational, kind, and incredibly supportive! Hop along so you can learn about why we create and how much joy it brings us!

When I think about the first time I discovered stamping, I get a bit nostalgic. Slowly discovering products and techniques like (heat) embossing, distress inks and dies on YouTube, it seemed like a whole new world had opened up before my eyes. And still today, I'm amazed by how much you can get out of a stamp, an ink pad, some colors and cardstock.
Another unexpected thing I found were some great friends across the globe. It's beautiful how sharing a hobby (and using the internet) can bring people together.

As you may already know, I absolutely love trying out techniques and playing with colours, so I decided to make a card using some of my favourite techniques: watercoloring (creating backgrounds and coloring in images) and heat embossing on vellum.

I started by creating a watercolor wash for my background. Once dry, I die-cut it. I then embossed the tag image onto a piece of vellum and die-cut this too. I then stamped and embossed the florals and leaves onto watercolor paper. I colored the images using Zig Clean Color real brush markers and fussy cut them. Finally, I assembled everything together.

Your next stop on the hop is Maria Peters' instagram.
