Smile

Smile is one thing, which acts like medicine. Such a wonderful tool to make everyone happy. So, today's card is for all of you my blog friends...give a Big SMILE and see, everyone around you will also smile!

I chose the colors by Kathy at Lily Pad blog...Aren't they happy? I decided to create a Spring scene cos these colors remind me of the bright colored flowers around me at the beginning of spring. Talking about spring...there are so many colorful pinwheels in the shops and thus I began my card but of coarse I don't have any pinwheel stamp, would that stop me...NO. I decided to create my own using some Christmas stamps from Lawn fawn. Love when the stamps can be used creatively. Oh and scene is the theme for the current challenge at Lawnscaping blog...lol. Spring is the theme at Create blog too. I hope I am not late in submitting there.

Here is what I created:
Stamps: Lawn Fawn (Cozy Christmas, Fly Free) Pattern paper: Lawn Fawn bright side, Copics, felt , MFT (Cloud Dies)

Hope you like this Spring creation. Thanks for stopping by.

Miss you

In my last post I was telling you all about missing hubby, so while I could not sleep, I made a miss you card for him. I will just let it be on his desk, it sure is going to give him a big smile. Love the wonders of handmade cards.
I used the Paper smooches sparks challenge inspiration photo and used the clean, simple yet effective style. I also like the softness (feathers in my card) with a pop of color . Talking about colors, which are opposites on the color wheel, which is the challenge at CAS-ual Friday blog. Go and play, there is still time to create and participate at both the blogs.

I like how a small stamp can create a card with a beautiful effect. To make most of my stamp sets, I started to look at them in a different way. I used a tiny feather stamp from Paper smooches My Peeps stamp set and stamped it repeatedly using generation stamping technique. For the background I just misted it lightly with self made mist.It has some shimmer but its not visible in the photo:(

Thanks for dropping by.

Congratulations

Oh!!! it's really late now but what to do when someone is eagerly waiting for the hubby to be back after a week? To soften the effect of waiting and not hearing n staring at the Watch....I chose to engage myself in what I love besides hubby and the kids...Stamping...wink...wink

Especially when I had ideas popping in my little head:) and the challenges are my favorites.
So I used the inspiration from Paper smooches Sparks challenge...I like the clean and graphic look. It also fits the theme of Opposites attract at CAS-ual Friday. The DTs are really creative and the new ones are superb too. Cant wait to get inspired by them.

Now to my card, I like to think out of the box. I stamped the 3 Hexagons shelves from the Vogue Adobe set from Paper Smooches and created the background. Then I made lanterns with the same stamp, colored using copics, some glossy accent and some hand stitching for the finish. The result is something like:

I really like how it came out, do tell me what you think?

Funny Faces

Hello everyone! The weather here is really dull, rainy and gloomy today. But still, I am very happy and full of spirit! You may ask what it that's making me so happy...well I made a layout. And found lots of cute photos. And am laughing at the funny faces my younger daughter makes.
I made this layout using the sketch from the Basic Grey Blog. The original sketch is by Els Bridge, her LO is
Amazing!

My daughter make these funny faces and her Eyes are full of naughty expressions...so we wonder every time, what she has up her sleeve next. She is so cute;) The title says "Smile" cos that's the first step towards her naughtiness. I used butterflies because she is fluttering by all around the house all the time. I made some paper frills for the playful, girlie effect.

Supplies: Basic Grey (Porcelain) Paper and Element Stickers; Punches (Martha Stewert and EK success); Twine from the Twinery; Ranger Distress Inks

I made a pocket for the journaling which is: Yours always makes us wonder what you've been up to.

I'm also entering this for the Scallop Challenge at Basic Grey Blog.

Enjoy your Sunday! (And hopefully it is a Sun-day!)

Thank You

Edited: This card won me Fab 5 at Hero Arts Blog

Here I go again. I created this card using the color blocking technique.
I used one of the sketches from Hero Arts April contest and since its made using stamps by my favorite company...it goes straight to the new challenge blog called A Blog named HERO. I got inspired by the colors from the inspirational photo at Jay Gee's Nook Blog.

I love this sentiment from Hero Arts and actually I can really say that this card came out how I pictured and looks very pretty in real....I used an Acrylic block coloring technique and used different amount of water for the effect and texture. The I stamped the newsprint background over it.

Supply: Stamps: Hero Arts; Inks: Ranger disterss inks, Memento Black; Copics; Blings; Perfect pearl water

Hope the pearly shine and the flower soft effect is clear in the close up photo.

My way of saying Thanks for all my friends who drop by and make me work harder and better.

Sunshine and Laughter

Sunshine and Laughter sure go hand in hand...as soon as I see some sunshine esp. during the cold winter months, my mood instantly gets happy. I feel so happy and cheerful....Hmmm! effect of sunshine I guess. So I made this card for all my friends on the other side of the world, who are getting into the winter months.
I used my favorite company's stamps. Yes! you did guess correct its Hero Arts...my first stamps, my first bonding with the HA flickr group and I feel so lucky to have made so many nice friends there.

I used the sketch from the currant challenge at Hero Arts Blog. I am also including this card for the challenge at A Blog named HERO: Playing favorites

Supplies: Stamps: Hero Arts; Inks: Jenny Bowlin, Versafine, Ranger distress inks; Floss from Anchor; Blings

Hope you like what I created...2nd. post coming soon. Stay put...lol.
Thanks for dropping by.

Block Coloring

A Blog Named HERO!
Yes, that's a new blog created by some sweet and talented ladies for lots of lovely ladies, sharing their love and passion for Hero Arts stamps. I made this for their first challenge. My favorite at the moment is this Lotus stamp set from HA and of coarse my all time favorite distress inks. I used the inspiration from the inspirational photo at JGS nook challenge blog. I see block of color in it. I am also entering it for the first challenge at Oozak blog.

My card:

I used the color block technique. Used distress inks on Acrylic block, spritz it with pearl water. I changed the quantity of water for different texture. I embossed the flower using white ep. on dark blue CS and colored over it with Copics.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sky's the Limit

Hope you are still enjoying the Easter celebrations friends!!!
I am quickly popping up to show you my card, which I created for the following challenges:
Skipping Stones design: I used the sketch
Moxie Fab World: The paper scraps challenge ( I used paper scraps for the kits and the clouds...always collect the smallest pieces;) I also used the tiny leftover floss and created the small bows)
The Young Crafters challenge: Sewing/ Stitching (I hand embroidered the edge of the center panel)

My card:

I created the background using some handmade mist. The clouds interpret the four panels in the sketch. The center focal point is the kite...its such a great way to use the tiny paper scraps. Those tiny floss pieces made their way onto the card instead of the bin and I like that:) I applied some glossy accent on parts of the cloud but it wasn't fully dry.

Thanks for dropping by.

I made this card for the currant challenge at the Unity Opportunity Blog and The Lily Pad Blog as its all about flowers. I made this card for my friend, who has her B'day tomorrow. She is very lively person and lives life to the fullest, hence the sentiment.

I cut the center piece out of sticky back Canvas and stamped the image onto it. Then I colored the matting using 3 shades of distress inks. Created the background and assembled everything together.
