Decorating a Mirror using Mix Media

Hello Everyone!!
I am sharing a project today, which I forgot to share on the blog :) Today I want to show you how to create a simple Mirror using various techniques using Gelatos®,Stamper’s Big Brush Pens, PITT® Artist Pen, Gesso, Gel Medium and Glaze.
It's really fun playing with all the various products and experimenting ways to combine them.
Here's a photo of the finished project:

This is how I created it:

I applied Gesso to the wooden frame and let it dry.

Then, I rubbed  Gelato all over it and blended it using my fingers.

Next, I stippled some Gesso onto the stencil using the stippling brush that comes in the Tool kit.

Stamped the Girl images onto a tissue paper and let it dry. (it takes a while to dry!)

Adhered the images onto the base using Gel Medium. It gives a matt finish.

Next, I colored the images using various colors. To make the girls pop, I made a shadow effect using the grey Gelato. All these various mediums blend beautifully. Love this quality of Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft products!

Now I rubbed some Gelato over the stencil and blended it using Gesso, which gives a soft look and a bit of dimension too. Beautiful effect and texture in real life.

Stamped the sentiment and other images. I doodled a bit onto the edges to define them.

Once finished, I applied a layer of Glaze so nothing will get smudged when you touch it.

AND!!! The finished mirror is ready to be decorated in my daughter's wall. Hope you give some of these techniques a try :)
PS. if you don't have a mirror, you could also create a photo frame using these steps.

Supplies:

Gelatos® (Aqua Dolce, Squid Ink, Banana, Bubble Gum, Cotton Candy, Guava, Lavender, metallic red)
Stamper’s Big Brush Pen (Greens, Black, Reds, Neutrals, Yellows, Cobalt Turquoise, White)
PITT Artist Pen (Black)
Gelatos® Tool Set
Stamp: Penny Black (Hello Gorgeous), Unity Stamp Company (Fashionistas - Roxanne, Fashionistas - Anastasia, Empowered words)

I am leaving to visit my family, so as I wrote before there wouldn't be much happening here but I have some exciting news coming soon :) Can't wait to share!!!!

Floral Background

Hey crafty friends!!! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I got some gorgeous Clearly Besotted stamps from Stephanie. Love this flower set so much. So, when I saw the inspiration photo at Curtain Call challenge blog (I love the pop of pink, yellow, peach, teal and green and the floor panel) and also the background challenge at Clearly Besotted, an idea popped and I have a card ready. How wonderful...lol

Now, I used the swipe technique shown by Jennifer McGuire and I absolutely love how this looks. I used all the colors from the inspiration photo and of coarse Flowers (I don't have and Sunflower stamp though). For the floor panel, I cut my background mat layer and inserted the sentiment panel :) Oh!!! I did lots of masking here too!

I am also submitting this card for the embossing challenge at Simon Says Challenge Blog.

Supplies: Cardstock: (white, black) Neenah; Stamps: (Fancy Florals) Clearly Besotted; Inks: (bubble gum, butter bar, tide pool, orange soda) Hero Arts; Embossing powder: Ranger super fine Gold

Little Note and a touch of Gold

Yes!!! Gold is trendy and looks fabulous if used a bit. So, I created this card which really came out very pretty in real. I just love it :)

Played along the following challenges:

10 minute Craft Dash: I used Gold as my yellow :) and since it's a single layer card, it just took 8 minutes and 57 sec.
Moxie Fab World: All that glitters is GOLD

For my card, I used the Avery Elle Ikat stamp, Hero Arts small tag stamp and My Favorite things Butterfly stamped in gold :)

I have one more card in work, which I will be sharing tomorrow!
