CASADIA Time

Hello everyone!!!
Oh!!!it's so freezing cold outside and its snowing like crazy. My younger daughter slipped 3 times and was in pain!!! so she just wanted me to keep cuddling her...lol

Let's talk CASADIA(a case+an idea), a fun and brilliant idea started by Wida !!! It's a chain of cards, where you create a card inspired by the previous card in the chain. The first card in the chain was this card below by Laura Bassen.

You can see the whole chain HERE and after many cards later Chupa created this beautiful card.

I like the colors black, red and a touch of orange. I love the polka dot pattern and the white space with that tiny heart as the focal point. So I created my version using all those points I liked. I used the sketch from the current Paper Smooches Sparks challenge.

My card:

I used the red polka dot pp. I tried something new to me "the chalkboard technique", I just changed it a bit. I did not emboss using white embossing powder just to keep it a bit soft as I wanted the focus on that tiny orange mouse, just like Chupa's tiny heart....lol
I also wrote some chemical formulas using a white pencil to give it real hand written feel.
Thanks Wida for asking, it really was fun.

Supplies:
Cardstock: (solar white, black) Neenah; Pattern paper; (Dots and Stripes) Echo paprk paper company; Stamp: (Great Chemistry) Paper Smooches; Ink: (memento black) Tsukineko, (frost white) Color Box, (snow) Hero Arts chalk ink; Copics, white pencil (faber castell)

Smile!!!

Yes!! Thinking of you always makes me smile...How nice is this sentiment by Hero Arts. Like the depth of the meaning of just few words....there are so many special people who make me smile...I bet you all also have those special ones :)

So here I come with another new to me card. This is so very different than my usual style. I had to create a card with this lovely inspiration photo at Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger challenge  (Love all the patterns and textures) and then of coarse the colors at The Play Date cafe are just Yumm!!! On top, I got this new stamp from my last Hero Arts win, which I had to ink.I tried to use new techniques to me on this card. The use of stamps on pattern paper (those leaves) look beautiful, stamping on cork, crackle accent on the butterflies and then a kind of shabby and clustered look.
I love to play along the challenges at Hero Arts and specially when it inspires me to try something new (That is the January contest) and the same theme is at A Blog Named Hero too.
