Altenew October 2017 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and Welcome. I am so excited to be part of the Altenew October 2017 Release Blog Hop. You are gonna love it as there is such a GORGEOUS range of Embossing powders and beautiful Our Family Scrapbook Collection :) You might have come here from the awesome Laurie Schmidlin's blog.

This is a long post so grab your favourite drink and relax.
For my projects, I used the " Razzleberry, Fluorescent Green, Rose Gold, Copper, Platinum Crisp Embossing Powders" from the new release. I also used some products from the previous releases :)

It was so much fun playing with these gorgeous embossing powders and combining them with various stamps and dies :) For my first card I used Super Script Stamp Set, Super Script Die set and Layered Laurel Stamp set and Coral Berry Crisp ink. I used Rose Gold, Copper, Platinum Crisp Embossing Powders to different layers of the leaves. It looks so pretty in real and all the 3 metallic shaded match perfectly.

For my 2nd. card, I went a bit mixed media style. I used Sketched Lines Stencil, Beautiful Day Stamp Set, and Fantasy Floral 3d Die, those 3 are my all time favorites :) Along with I used the new Fluorescent Green and Rose Gold Crisp Embossing powders.

For my 3rd. card, I played with the layered dies and embossing powders. I used the Layered Floral Cover Die A & B Bundle , Super Script Stamp Set, Super Script Die set and Lavender Fields Crisp Ink. I used Rose Gold, Copper, Platinum Crisp Embossing Powders onto the Layered Floral Cover Die B. Again a beautiful mix of metallic shades and really pretty effect.

The close-up shows the beautiful effect of the embossing powders.

For my last card I simply used the Razzleberry Crisp Embossing Powder for background embossing and used it for the resist technique. I really like the effect. I used Pattern Play Circle and Hug Me stamp and die bundle for this card, but you can get the stamp and die separately too. Cute right?

FSJ: Traveler's Journal

Hello everyone! Today I have a fun spread in my Bronze Traveler's journal by Fun Stampers Journey. I tried the watercolor notebook insert for the first time and love the paper. It's wonderful to use with techniques and takes the modelling paste without any problem :)

Here is how I created it.

I started by using Lovely Blue Liquid color with water and added it to my pages. This watercolor paper is wonderful :)
I let it dry and then stamped the image using Clear Pigment ink and applied two shades of  blue Pan Pastels.
I then applied modelling paste using the Vintage Screen stencil. Once dry, I flicked some Citrus Cooler Silk.
I then stamped some of the images onto whip cream cardstock using Denim Days ink.
I then stamped the florals from Flower Swirls stamp set using clear pigment ink onto the color splash sheet, embossed using white embossing powder and colored using the color splash pencils.
I then die-cut all the images using co-ordinating dies.
I then die-cut the doily, word "AMAZING" and the tag and assembled everything together.
I actually created a pocket for my tag to go in, so I can write and hide it if I don't want to share it...lol
To do this, I adhered the doily, only from 3 edges and then adhered the photo on the top so the adhesive is only onto the doily part. Now I can easily slide in the tag
Here are a couple more close ups for all the texture.

FSJ: One Stamp Two Ways

Hello everyone! Today I have two mixed media cards for you using the same supplies from Fun Stampers Journey. I used this beautiful branch die and the Hexagon stencil.

Card 1: I took the watercolor paper and used Journey modelling paste through the stencil and let it dry. I then die-cut the branch using watercolor paper and added color to it using the Journey splash and water. I die-cut one more branch using vellum. Once the mat layer was dry, I stamped the sentiment and adhered the branches. Finally I adhered the layer to the Lemon Drop cardbase.

Card 2: I took this card up a notch. So I created a light background wash using Journey Splash and water onto watercolor paper. Let it dry. I then added some Journey Splash to the modelling paste and applied it to the mat layer. Once dry I adhered this piece to the Oatmeal Cookie cardbase. I die-cut the branch and flicked the same Journey splash. Layer the branch using vellum branch and adhered it to the card.
